By Emmanuel Ikuoye
Peace, like flowers, makes our world lovelier than Helen of Troy, like a rainbow beautifies our sky, giving rest to our souls. Peace is a planted seed watered with love, grown by tolerance of two entities shifting grounds, desiring her like a desert pining for rain. Peace, you whose absence midwives chaos, unfathomable ruins. Can any nation summit her Everest without you? Come, O mother, calming our nerves and raging storms, giving us the wisdom to untie this Gordian knot; silence the magic maze of howling beasts in whose claws our world is entangled!
Emmanuel Ikuoye is an emerging poet from Lagos, Nigeria.
